Here it is, in all its Technicolor® glory: The cover for the BLUEHOLME™ Compleat Rules! As you can see, some inspiration was provided by certain other old-school artworks …
The artwork is by the immensely talented Mr Jean-Francois Beaulieu, who can be contacted through his website at http://johnnybleu.daportfolio.com/.
that is very cool
Wowzers!!….. can’t wait until I can own a copy of this!!!
I love the cover art; it pays homage to the original Dragon from the basic set (Blue Box) and the wizard from the TSR Hobbies, INC. logo.
Yes, there are a few homages in there, not all related to D&D and not all specified by me. I only got the TSR wizard when you pointed him out, Charles. Mind you, there’s another homage about the magic-user, too – but you’ll have to figure that out yourself when the real thing is in your hands … 😉
How soon until this is available?
Wow! I love it! Seriously looking forward to the release down the road.
It’s not out of the woods yet – I am still writing the manuscript and doing the layout, which Will take a few months. Then I will commission the interior art. Hopefully before the end of the year, anyway!
Have you already decided on the interior artists? I’d like to offer my services in that regard.
Looks great!!!
Another DIY game…that’s great. I’d love to buy it: if the word COMPLEAT existed in the English language I’d at least consider it. I suspect the word the author is looking for is COMPLETE. I could be completely mistaken (or even “compleatly” mistaken); but I don’t think so…
That’s good to hear, Liriel – another customer, then! Courtesy of the Oxford dictionary:
COMPLEAT
Pronunciation: /kəmˈpliːt/; adjective & verb; archaic spelling of complete.
That cover is wonderful!
Utterly gorgeous!!! I love everything about it. I am about 99% sure I’ll be purchasing a hardback.
Thanks, Urieal! You’ll have to wait about a year, though – I want to be very, very sure that all the errata is caught via the PDF before I make it available in print form. 😉
