What’s been happening at Dreamscape Design? You might be forgiven for thinking, “Not much.” Those of you following my progress on various social media will be aware that Real Life has been taking a more-than-usual level of interest in my indie publishing efforts for years now, beginning with an unwanted and life-changing promotion right in the middle of the BLUEHOLME™ Journeymanne Rules Kickstarter, escalating with an earlier-than-planned relocation to escape the authoritarian crackdown in Hong Kong, oh, and look, here comes Covid! There have been many challenges since – house buying, renovation, injury, blah, blah, blah – some of which were overcome and some of which are here to stay.
Forgive the lengthy preamble, but I thought it was time to set things down in one place as things are finally beginning to settle down and activity here at the Dreamscape Demense shows signs of picking up. Obviously the top priority is finishing off the Blueholme Brochure before moving on to the long list of BLUEHOLME™ and BLUEHACK™ adventures and supplements, and the AEON:engine™.
The long and short of it is, Dreamscape Design has not gone away nor is it in danger of doing so, but it remains and will remain a one-man band, so things will happen when they happen. At least now I can see that they will happen at some point.

Are you still going to do Compleat?
I just bought Blueholme this year and absolutely love it. But I do wish there were some extra classes. Personally, I’m good with the four core classes but my players want to be a paladin, ranger, or druid or something sometimes.
If you were to put some extra options for the game in the back like variable weapon damage, expand encounter tables to include city and village, and maybe put in some random tables like those found in Advanced LL, I would just get rid of everything else and only use the Blueholme rulebook. It would truly be Compleat. Thanks!
I still plan to produce a supplement with the additional classes mentioned in the Holmes Basic book, as well as in some of his other writings. There are some more pages to go into the Referee Repository one of these days (months? years?) with optional rules like damage bonuses and ability modifiers. I’ve stopped giving dates for things, though!
I’m an adult with adult responsibilities and I totally get that. I’m really enjoying Blueholme though. The extra spells are great and the magical items are fun. You did a great job with it. It’s what I was looking for – something different but the same. It’s got a very unique flavor. We’re playing a homebrew campaign in the Wilderlands of High Fantasy (Bat in the Attic edition) and it all fits together perfectly.
